Bonus Video Poker Guide Australia
Bonus Video Poker, and its companion Double Bonus Video Poker, are some of the most popular versions of Video Poker available to Australian players. As with so many versions of Video Poker, both Bonus Video Poker and Double Bonus Video Poker are based on the popular Jacks or Better.
In Bonus Video Poker and Double Bonus Video Poker, the basics of Jacks or Better have been tweaked and improved. These include several different payouts and some differences in card rankings. Let’s take a closer look at Bonus Video Poker and see why this is such a popular version of Video Poker!
Bonus Video Poker follows a very similar format to Jacks or Better. As such, your winnings are determined by the hand that you are able to build when compared to the Paytable. However, in Bonus Video Poker, there are a few other differences in the paytable. Bonus Video Poker has several variants on the Four of a kind hand. The most valuable is Four Aces, followed by Four 2s, 3s, 4s, and then four of any kind.
For the most part, Bonus Video Poker uses the exact same hand rankings as Jacks or Better, with a few key differences.
Royal Flush – A 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace from the same Suit of cards
Straight Flush – Five cards in consecutive order, from the same Suit
Aces Four of a Kind – Four Aces
2s, 3s, 4s Four of a Kind – A Four of a Kind made up of either 2s, 3s, or 4s
Four of a Kind – A Four of a Kind made up of any other cards
Full House – Hand made up of a Three of a Kind and a Pair
Flush – Any five cards from the same Suit, but not in consecutive order
Straight – Any five consecutive cards, but can be from different suits
Three of a Kind – Any three cards of the same rank
Two Pair – Two Pairs of identical cards.
One Pair – The weakest hand, containing just one pair.
Four of a Kind Differences
The main difference between Jacks or Better is the additional bonus payouts for Bonus Video Poker. In Jacks or Better, Four of a Kind pays out 25 credits. However, in Bonus Video Poker, a Four of a Kind made up of Aces pays out 80 credits and 160 Credits in Double Bonus Video Poker. A Four of a Kind made up of 2s, 3s, or 4s pays out 40 credits or 80 credits. Finally, if you get a Four of a Kind with the rest of the cards in the deck, it pays out 25 credits or 50 credits for Double Bonus.
That is the only difference between Bonus and Double Bonus Video Poker, the bonus payouts for these extra Four of a Kind pay double in Double Bonus Video Poker.
Paytable in Bonus Video Poker
Let’s take a look at the paytable available in Bonus Video Poker, as well as Double Bonus Video Poker. Remember, the only difference between Bonus Video Poker and the Double Bonus variant is the payouts for the Four of a Kind payouts.
